The Salty Monk's restaurant is light and airy with views of our award-winning gardens in East Devon. Our restaurant has held two AA Rosettes for the last eight years and The Good Food Guide gave us a cooking score of five. We pride ourselves on using only the finest, freshest and, wherever possible, organic ingredients sourced from the West Country, even the Cornish Sea Salt! We believe that it is important to know not only the origin of all our food but the welfare of our meat and fish so we try to only use small, artisan and independent suppliers. Both chefs by trade, we delight in making everything on the premises ensuring all dietary requirements can be met. Our second chef Scott has been with us for nine years and his approach to perfecting his food is inspirational.
The table is yours for the evening, so relax and enjoy...

We love the honour and responsibility of helping our customers celebrate special moments in their lives. We provide a warm welcome, seamless service and delicious food and wines.
We make everything ourselves so any special diet is a challenge we will rise to with advance notice. We specialise in gluten free diets so Coeliacs can enjoy freshly made rolls, cake or biscuits. We use reductions for our sauces which means most of our dishes can be adapted very easily.
Why not indulge someone with a personal tailor-made voucher for dinner, bed and breakfast or even flowers, chocolates or an award-winning cream tea?
